Alternate Extra Credit

I had spoken with a few of you in 7th period (Pre AP) who had lost their packet. Here is the topic for your essay: "Who impacted Ben Carson's life most?"

We had talked about an essay regarding writing in all classes but I feel this topic will be more appropriate since you read the book. Write a 1-2 page well developed essay. Make sure if you use any outside sources to make a note of where you got the information from on the last page of your paper.

In order to receive full credit, you must turn this is by Tuesday. Thank you all!

Tomorrow!

Hello all :) Tomorrow we will be hearing and reading a historical speech by Sojourner Truth titled "And Ain't I a Woman." It's very moving if you have not heard it. We will be analyzing this speech for repetition and talking about the effects that repetition has on readers.

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone has had a restful yet fun weekend. We made it through the first week of school! Can you believe it? Monday, we will be continuing our assessment, and hopefully finishing. Tuesday, we will begin growing your knowledge! Next week our focus will be summarizing, vocabulary, and points of view. We will be reading several selections out of our literature books. Lastly, I think I may have decided on which novel we will be doing this Fall. Parents, I already have a class set too! I'll release the name of the novel at a later date, but I promise it's something good! (One of my favorites). Have a great Sunday, see you all tomorrow!
